Echinopsis hybrid 'Brigitte Bardot' Has a beautiful up to 6"+ diameter bloom with inner petals a dark red to brick red and cerise-magenta edges, lighter reddish to orange narrow mid stripe. Second row same but lighter red with a more narrow cerise edge, 3rd row even lighter. Petals have a slight ruffled edge. Filaments are pink to red-magenta, anthers are cream, stamen is cream to light green. Overlapping, opens wide. A cross of 'Antares' X 'Spring Symphony'. A (BEX hybrid), Hybridizers ID # (BEX 118) hybridized by Ingo Bartels of Germany.
Notes : Bloom diameters vary should many blooms open on a smaller plant simultaneously, in that case they can average 4"+ up to 6" in diameter. This variety Ech. cv 'Brigitte Bardot' tends to bloom profusely with beautiful colored blooms even from very small plants, but not a very fast grower, nor a heavy pupper.This hybrid is named after the French actress, singer and fashion model Brigitte Bardot, who later also became an animal rights champion & activist. She was one of the best known sex symbols of the 1950s and 1960s era and was widely referred to by simply her initials "BB". Starting in 1969, Bardot became the official face of Marianne (who had previously been anonymous) to represent the liberty of France. She currently resides in Paris, France.
