Echinopsis Hybrid 'Filou' (MEX 415)
Specimen Size: 1.5" in diameter.
Echinopsis hybrid 'Filou' has a 4" to 5"+ inch diameter bloom with inner petals yellow-gold, slightly lighter colored mid rib. Next row of petals same but with some bronze coloring on petal tips, long narrow petals, pointed tips, some slight serrations on petal edges, opens wide. Back petals are copper-bronze colored, shorter than inner petals, narrow. Stamens are reddish-brown colored 1/2 to 3/4 up from throat last 1/4 to 1/2 is yellow, yellow to cream colored anthers and stigma. Hybridized by Klaus-Peter Mügge (Hyb.# MEX 415-6).
Growth : Stem growth is dark green, semi-globular in growth form, long central spines that tend to curve near tip ends. Spines are brownish on new growth later turning gray colored on older growth.
More Info : The stamen are unusual in form compared to most Echinopsis hybrids and resemble eyelashes.Good grower, heavy pupper or offset producer.
