Growth : Originally classified as an Echinopsis but as this variety is tall/columnar in growth form and over 16" tall, we have placed it in the Trichocereus catalog offerings. We have only been growing this variety a few growing seasons and it seems to bloom well at 16"+ inches in height. Our mother plants though are already over 20" in height and still evaluating this variety but we expect it to max out at 24"+ in height.Individual stem growth is dark green 3" to 3-1/2" inch + in diameter by 24"+ tall, columnar growth form. Central spines are light brown colored, geyish on older spines and average 1-1/4" long with a downward angled direction, short radial spines 1/2" long, 14-16 average ribs. Stems tend to slightly curve.
Notes : This variety varies greatly in color tones from first open to next day (See photos above & below). Opens on day 1 with yellow to dark orange with some pinkish tones on petal edges then fades to overall lighter pink coloration with some faint orange tones. Blooms profusely at 16"+ inches in height, good pupper/offset producer-naturally producing 3 to 4+ offsets or pups each growing season.
Flower buds have a woolly golden-bronze colored hairy like appearance until last few days of bud development before blooming.
